About the role:
Victoria Police's Continuous Improvement, Uplift and Technology (CIUT) function delivers critical technology services and digital capabilities that support more than 22,000 employees across the state. This role sits within the Intelligence, Investigation and Analytics (II&A) team.
Reporting to the Group Manager of II&A, the role will be delivering technology solutions. The Product Manager - Digital Evidence Management Systems will focus on creating a modern easy to use system to make interview recording, reviewing and sharing, easier and faster for our police as well as introduction of features that decrease the running cost and administrative burden.
The newly created role will support the interview capture technology and the systems that support it. Our current technology uses fixed digital; cameras and portable units to record interviews in-field and at the police station. The systems then publish the interviews to physical media and cloud services, the Product Manager role will work to maintain and upgrade the technology and services in line with the product roadmap.

Your duties will include:
- Create and maintain a product roadmap and vision to improve the users experience with the managed applications.
- Create strong working relationships with the other product managers, project managers, team members and vendors.
- Establish effective working relationships with stakeholders in the organisation and at other agencies.
- Represent Victoria Police at relevant government and industry forums and negotiate and influence external stakeholders.
- Prioritise the initiatives in your space to maximise the value of the applications.
- Ensure that the product enhancements in the space are delivering value.
- Manage and provide leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary team of professional technical and administrative staff to ensure high quality service delivery.
- Actively participate in the agile delivery community; sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bring in best practice across the organisation and government.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information and Communications Technology or related experience in the discipline.
- Experience with Cloud platforms and software as a service or managed service providers.
- Communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with integrated IT design patterns.
- Advanced knowledge and thought leadership in agile ways of working and embedding an agile culture.
Further Information:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
