Full Job Description

We're partnering with a leading Australian organisation looking to bring on a Lead AI Engineer to build production AI hands-on. This is a deeply technical role for an engineer who leads through code rather than management, owning the design and delivery of agentic and GenAI systems from prototype to production.

The Opportunity

Build and ship production AI systems hands-on using agentic frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
Develop GenAI capabilities including RAG pipelines, vector search and embeddings, and copilot-style integrations across the product
Own delivery end to end, writing the code, diagnosing production issues and architecting the solution
Productionise models with proper monitoring, retraining and operational reliability
Establish MLOps patterns that let AI ship safely and at pace
Integrate AI across data lakes and APIs in a mixed legacy and cloud-native environment
Lead through technical depth, setting engineering standards and lifting the capability of the team around you

What We're Looking For

Strong hands-on engineering background, someone who is in the code daily and wants to stay there
Deep capability building production AI across agentic frameworks, GenAI, RAG, vector search and embeddings
Solid MLOps covering deployment, monitoring, retraining and operational reliability
Strong software engineering foundations across AWS and cloud-native architecture
Comfortable owning delivery end to end, from architecture through to production support
Experience integrating AI across data and API layers
