About Cabrini Women’s Mental Health
Cabrini Women’s Mental Health provides specialist, women-centred mental health care within Cabrini Health. Located at the Lisa Thurin Centre in Hopetoun Street, Elsternwick, the service provides a range of programs supporting women experiencing mental health concerns, including inpatient care, day programs, outpatient and consulting services.

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, mature-minded and reliable Receptionist to join our Front Office Team.
The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for patients, families, clinicians and visitors and will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and professional operation of the reception area.
You will be a positive and approachable team member with a strong customer service focus, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail. The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy mental health environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional and welcoming reception and administrative support.
Greet patients, families, clinicians and visitors on arrival.
Answer and respond to telephone enquiries in a courteous, professional and compassionate manner.
Complete patient admissions and discharges accurately and efficiently.
Process patient billing, receipting and banking.
Accurately enter and maintain patient information and records.
Run and action daily reports.
Ensure reception and waiting areas are maintained in a clean, organised and welcoming manner.
Open and close the reception area as required.
Work collaboratively with clinicians, administration and other members of the Cabrini Women’s Mental Health team.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with Cabrini policies, procedures and privacy requirements.
Undertake other administrative and reception duties as directed by the Nursing Unit Manager.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
Previous reception or administration experience; medical reception or healthcare experience is highly desirable.
Flexibility and availability to work Monday to Friday, including evening shifts.
Excellent customer service skills and professional telephone manner.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
Confidence working autonomously while also contributing positively to a team.
A calm, professional and compassionate approach when working with patients experiencing mental health concerns.
Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Proven reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to policies, procedures and professional standards.
Experience with private health insurance claims and healthcare administration would be advantageous, but is not essential.
