As HR Advisor, you'll be the go-to partner for leaders and employees, providing practical advice across recruitment and selection, establishment management, employment conditions and benefits and diversity and inclusion.
You'll also play a hands-on role in:
- Coordinating the team's HR advice service, including managing the team inbox and ensuring quality, consistent advice.
- Acting as an escalation point with Queensland Shared Services and other agencies for payroll and establishment matters.
- Coordinating establishment activities, requests to hire, employment screening and appointments.
- Delivering training, workshops and presentations to build HR knowledge and workforce capability.
- Acting as the People and Culture liaison for our employee-led diversity and inclusion network.
- Preparing briefing notes, submissions and data-focused, HR-metrics driven material.
- Driving continuous improvement across HR operations and contributing to key projects.

What we are looking for:
We're looking for someone who:
- Demonstrated knowledge of public sector HR legislation and frameworks, with the ability to provide comprehensive and reliable advice to stakeholders while navigating ambiguity in a complex and changing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences, deliver engaging training and presentations, and provide exceptional customer service across various channels, and the ability to negotiate effectively with stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Proven ability to work under limited direction to supervise and support a small unit, prioritise workloads, manage projects through to completion, deliver high-quality outputs and provide effective solutions within required timeframes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify business improvements and opportunities to strengthen workforce management capabilities.
- Extensive experience in establishment management processes , including entering and extracting information from an HR information system (e.g. Aurion) to action appointments, onboarding and establishment updates.
