Your New Role and Responsibilities
At Leidos Australia, our Matrix Engineering Team is a hub of technical excellence, supporting mission-critical programs across Defence, Intelligence, and Federal Government portfolios.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

Architect and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments that align with business needs.

Oversee cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) across platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

Plan and execute migration of applications and data from on-premises systems to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption.

Develop scripts and workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate deployments and optimise resource usage.

Implement robust security measures, monitor compliance, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to protect cloud environments.
What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM.

Expertise in tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation for automated deployments and configuration management.

Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerised applications in cloud environments.

Strong skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation, plus familiarity with languages like Java or Go for cloud-native development.

Understanding of cloud security best practices, VPC design, VPNs, load balancers, and compliance frameworks.
