As a Database Administrator at Epicor , you will help maintain the availability, security, and performance of SQL Server and PostgreSQL database environments. You will work with experienced database, cloud, DevOps, and application teams to maintain reliable and scalable systems.
This role is well suited for someone building their database administration career who has a strong technical foundation, a willingness to learn, and an interest in cloud platforms, automation, migrations, and database reliability.
Monitor and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL database environments.
Assist with database installations, configuration, upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance.
Participate in database migrations, including on-premises-to-cloud and SQL Server-to-PostgreSQL initiatives.
Help manage backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery processes.
Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, capacity, and availability issues.
Assist with database security, access controls, auditing, and governance requirements.
Contribute to database automation using tools such as Ansible, GitHub Actions, and scripting.
Work with application development, cloud, and DevOps teams on database-related requirements and issues.
Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.
Learn new database, cloud, and automation technologies and recommend improvements.
Working knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
Understanding of relational database concepts, SQL, indexing, backups, recovery, and performance fundamentals.
Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
Knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with Azure or another public cloud platform.
Basic scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
Understanding of database security and access management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and learn from experienced team members.
Bachelor’s degree, relevant technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with Azure database and infrastructure services.
Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, GitHub Actions, or other automation tools.
Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL migrations.
Knowledge of database monitoring tools such as Datadog.
Familiarity with NoSQL or modern data platform technologies.
Database-related certifications.
