FinXL is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Associate Program and be deployed with a leading banking client on a 12+ months contract in Sydney CBD.

Collaborate within a high-performing engineering team across a broad ecosystem of trade finance products.

Develop, refine, and maintain enterprise-grade backend software solutions using modern programming languages (Java and/or Python).

Create responsive frontend elements and integrate services across complex financial application domains.

Utilize modern AI tools, coding assistants, and modern development environments to optimize software delivery.

Navigate and interface with existing core infrastructure, demonstrating flexibility across varied architectures.

Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous deployment workflows to maintain application stability.

2 to 5 years of commercial software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated technical capability.

Hands-on proficiency developing with Java or Python., Spring and APIs.

Proven understanding of full stack software engineering concepts and lifecycle practices including some front-end experience.

Familiarity or active interest in AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and automated tools.

Willingness and open mindset to work alongside legacy mainframe enterprise environment components (Cobold).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong collaborative problem-solving abilities.

12+ months contract with a banking client.

Hybrid working model with 2-3 days in the office in Sydney CBD.
