Shape the Future of Critical Network Infrastructure
We're looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to play a key role in designing, supporting, and evolving a complex enterprise network environment that underpins critical business operations.
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing technology team responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of a large-scale, mission-critical network infrastructure. You'll be the technical lead for network services, partnering with infrastructure, development, product, and business teams to deliver innovative solutions that support both current operations and future growth. What You'll Be Doing
Network Strategy & Engineering
Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise network solutions.
Provide strategic direction for network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with business objectives.
Develop network designs and architecture for infrastructure and transformation projects.
Drive initiatives that improve network availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Operational Excellence
Deliver advanced support across LAN, WAN, wireless, and data centre networking environments.
Act as an escalation point for complex network incidents and critical Severity 1 and Severity 2 issues.
Ensure network services are delivered within agreed service levels and performance expectations.
Administer network monitoring, backup, and management tools to maintain high service availability.
Participate in an on-call roster supporting a 24x7 operational environment.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Partner with internal technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable network services.
Collaborate with telecommunications providers, hardware vendors, and managed service partners.
Provide technical leadership and guidance across infrastructure-related initiatives.
Governance, Security & Compliance
Ensure network devices remain patched, secure, and compliant with organisational standards.
Maintain procedural documentation and technical standards.
Support audit, change management, risk, and compliance activities.
Contribute to maintaining a secure and resilient technology environment.
What You'll Bring
Essential Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer within a large enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise across:
- Cisco Routing & Switching
- Cisco Wireless Technologies
- LAN, WAN and Enterprise Network Infrastructure
- TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet Switching & Routing
- IPSec and SSL VPN Technologies
- Load Balancing, DNS and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)
- Experience working across multi-vendor environments, including:
- Cisco Nexus virtualisation technologies and Cisco ACI.
- Experience supporting highly available, 24x7 mission-critical environments.
- Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience designing and implementing complex enterprise networking solutions.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- SSL certificate administration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Active Directory experience.
- Financial services industry experience.
