You'll be part of the Fraud Technology Crew, contributing to the Group's fraud detection and prevention capabilities. Our teams design, build, deploy and operate:
Custom in-house web applications hosted on AWS
AI and data-driven fraud detection platforms
Integrations with enterprise and SaaS platforms
High-volume, real-time customer services

Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you'll work alongside talented engineers, data specialists and fraud experts committed to staying one step ahead of evolving threats and delivering better outcomes for our customers.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack), you'll play a key role in helping protect our customers from fraud and scams. Working in the Fraud & Scam Chapter within Fraud Technology, you'll design, build and enhance applications and platforms that help address emerging threats.
You'll contribute to technologies that support scam detection, digital intrusion alerts and fraud prevention. This is an opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges, influence technical direction and deliver solutions that make a genuine difference to customer security.

You'll bring:
Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL, scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and Snowflake data pipeline development and integration
Strong hands-on development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js and Python
Experience building scalable backend services and APIs
AWS cloud experience
Docker and containerised application development
SQL experience including PostgreSQL and Snowflake
Experience with GitHub and CI/CD tooling including GitHub Actions and TeamCity
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts
Database performance optimisation
Python for automation and data processing
Shell scripting (Bash)
Experience building applications that minimise I/O and maximise performance
You'll also have:
A security-first engineering mindset
Experience with automated testing practices
API and integration testing experience
Exposure to DevSecOps practices
Experience with observability tools such as Splunk or Observe
Production monitoring and operational support experience
