Senior Legal Secretary – Law Firm

About the Role

Koffels Solicitors & Barristers (Koffels) are seeking a professional and detail-oriented

Senior Legal Secretary to provide legal secretarial support to the historical institutional child and sexual abuse team of our legal practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized individual with strong communication skills to contribute to a collaborative legal environment.

Location: Sydney, NSW and is a permanent, full-time and onsite role.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings

· Draft simple letters and emails to clients, counsel and experts

· Manage solicitor calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings with clients, counsel and expert witnesses

· File court documents and maintain compliance with filing deadlines

· Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel professionally

· Maintain organized case files and document management systems

· Conduct basic legal research, case and statutory references and confirm legal citations as needed

· Process incoming mail, emails, and telephone communications

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary or a similar role
Experience with historical institutional child and sexual abuse cases
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, office management systems and the Affinity legal practice management system
Excellent typing skills with exceptional of accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Understanding of legal terminology and court procedures
Proven ability to work under pressure in a large caseload environment
Proven ability to effectively manage stakeholders, including legal professionals, clients and contractors
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to work independently

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, detail-oriented person who takes the initiative to solve problems for solicitors, paralegals, clients and other stakeholders.

Salary

✨ Competitive salary – $90,000 to $100,000 plus super
