Junior Legal Assistant

What are we looking for?

Our Land Rights, Disputes & Advisory practice is now seeking a Junior Legal Assistant to support our team in Melbourne on a Permanent Full Time basis.

Our team is conducting significant work across the fields of Native Title, First Nations other Not For Profit advice, Compulsory Acquisition, Climate & Environment and other dispute work.

Your work would be supporting Lawyers across our Practice but with an emphasis on Climate & Environment work.

Experience in a general litigation practice will be highly valued. Our practice offers a wide variety of opportunities for experience in both dispute and advisory work in a growing practice. You will be working with a Support Team Leader, Legal Assistant and Paralegals to develop skills and assist in the management of the practice.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

Providing a great level of care and support to our clients in a professional manner
Supporting the lawyer and team with general file management and administration
Coordinating appointments for our lawyers
Communicating with clients and opposing parties both in writing and verbally

What will you bring?

You will have a passion for social justice and generating positive outcomes for clients. The following experience and skills will ensure your success in this position:

Exceptional communication and customer service skills
A willingness to learn
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated organisation skills and the ability to multi-task
Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
Available to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
