Introduction:
ACEREZ is a consortium, comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy which has been appointed Preferred Network Operator by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission line network for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ).
The new electricity transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

THE OPPORTUNITY
ACEREZ require an Operational Readiness Engineer to support the business transition from design and construction through to being ready to run and operate the electricity transmission network in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. The role is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of activities covering the development of project plans, programs, and processes to enable safe operations of the CWO REZ network. The role will interact with a broad range of stakeholders and business systems required for operating an electricity Transmission Network.
The role will coordinate readiness activities across multiple internal and external stakeholders, enabling a collaborative, safe, and high confidence workflow. In coordinating these activities, this role will engage with functions covering:
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
Real Time Operation of the electricity transmission network, and the relevant support systems
IT and OT delivery and operation for the electricity transmission network
Asset management and field delivery of maintenance services for the network
Health and safety
Legal and Commercial management
This is a fixed term role until March 2028. During that time you will support a significant amount of electricity transmission infrastructure come online.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate delivery of the Operational Readiness Plan to manage the successful transition from Delivery to the Operations phase
Facilitate the completion of the Operational Readiness Evaluation assurance activities.
Support the completions process and maintain Network Operator records in a timely manner.
Monitor and deliver project performance, including reporting against Program
Develop processes and procedures to provide a consolidated view of asset readiness and support Operations activities
Support business transactions across multiple stakeholders
Provide timely solutions to issues around the project.
Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Liaise with Transgrid, AEMO and Energy Suppliers, to support successful Operational Readiness activities
Interface with the stakeholders to ensure an orderly transition to Operations via providing a documented and operational acceptance of system elements
Chair internal and external facing SME meetings as required by the Operational Readiness Manager.

Skills and Experiences:
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in the Electricity Energy Sector.
Proven Project management, problem solving relationship building and negotiation skill.
Ability to coordinate and influence multiple stakeholders
Proven experience in developing business processes, documentation, operational performance and business plans
Decisive with communication and stakeholder engagement / interpersonal relationships skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage a wide range stakeholders.
Desirable
Relevant technical knowledge/experience and capability in electricity transmission infrastructure
Familiar with National Electricity Rules requirements for generator connection and network operations
Electrical safety rules knowledge and application in the NEM
