Owned and operated by Adelaide Venue Management (AVM), the world-class Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) offers a recently renovated, state-of-the-art kitchen—considered one of the best equipped in the country—along with the opportunity to produce innovative cuisine for some the largest events in South Australia.

The Role

Due to a recent promotion and team expansion, a new opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified Commis Chef to join our dedicated and highly skilled in-house pastry team at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Reporting to the Sous Chef, Pastry, this position involves assisting in menu creation, preparation, and service as well as coaching junior staff. This role will suit a creative, passionate, and upbeat career-chef, who thrives in a high volume, quality-driven environment.

Proven ability to positively influence and supervise others to high levels of performance.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals.
Ability to give clear and precise direction to others.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Outstanding attention to detail through the delivery of excellent customer service.
Innovative and a forward thinker.
Ability to work across a 24/7 Roster.
Willingness to learn and adapt to all areas (i.e. hot, cold larder, pastry)
Fully qualified having completed a recognised Apprenticeship in Commercial Cookery and relevant post trade experience or demonstrated experience in line with position requirements.
