Your impact
Jacobs' Energy & Power business is at the forefront of the energy transition across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney team and help deliver critical power infrastructure projects that support a more sustainable energy future.
In this exciting role, you'll provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy developments, substations and major infrastructure programs. You'll work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver innovative, practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across medium and high voltage power infrastructure projects.
Lead the development and review of engineering solutions for transmission and distribution networks, substations and renewable energy connections.
Work closely with project teams, clients and our Global Delivery Centres to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
Support project delivery across sectors including power utilities, renewable energy, transport, water, industrial and resources.
Lead technical discussions, design reviews and client workshops.
Provide guidance and mentorship to developing engineers and contribute to technical capability growth within the team.
Support business development activities, proposal preparation and strategic client engagement.
Champion innovative approaches that help clients navigate the energy transition. #LI-SK2
Here's what you'll need
We're interested in hearing from highly experienced electrical engineers with expertise leading and delivering medium and high voltage power infrastructure projects.
You may bring:
Experience across transmission and distribution networks, substations, renewable energy infrastructure or related power systems projects.
Strong technical knowledge of primary and/or secondary electrical systems, protection systems, power system studies or network infrastructure.
Experience providing technical leadership within multidisciplinary project environments.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Knowledge of Australian industry standards, regulations and engineering best practice.
A collaborative approach to mentoring and supporting the development of others.
Passion for sustainable infrastructure and helping shape the future of energy.
