The Opportunity
Do you have a strong mechanical background combined with experience supervising subcontractors? Join our Confluence Maintenance team as a Site Works Supervisor. In this role, you will oversee predominantly mechanical maintenance, and minor project works across Sydney Water's wastewater treatment plants, primarily supporting the Lower Hawkesbury, Hornsby Heights, West Hornsby and Warriewood regions, with occasional work across the North West network.
Working closely with Sydney Water's operations team, you'll ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, helping maintain the reliability of critical wastewater infrastructure. You'll coordinate and supervise multiple subcontractors to deliver a range of maintenance and refurbishment projects, including tank condition assessments and refurbishments, as well as mechanical equipment repairs, replacements and maintenance. The role is predominantly mechanical (98%) focused with a small electrical component (2%).
This is a permanent, full-time, site-based position, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prioritise, and oversee maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, repairs, and daily work activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

Lead, coach, and develop the site maintenance team, fostering a safe, productive, collaborative, and high-performing workforce.

Provide on-site leadership and technical guidance, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards using compliant materials, tools, and equipment.

Collaborate with Sydney Water, contractors, and internal stakeholders including operations, planning, engineering, project management, quality, environment, and safety teams to support effective maintenance delivery.

Manage and resolve operational issues, escalating complex matters where required and meeting all reporting obligations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, customer outcomes, and operational performance.
About You

You have a mechanical trade or engineering background, preferably within the water and wastewater industry.

You hold a current and valid Class C driver's licence.

You have demonstrated supervisory experience, with the ability to effectively lead and coordinate multiple subcontractor teams.

Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.

Multitasking and the ability to prioritise tasks in a high-demand environment come naturally to you.
