About the role:
Northern Star has an exciting and rewarding leadership opportunity for a Planning & Reliability Superintendent to make an impact and grow our world-class Jundee Operations. This opportunity is offered permanently on a Tuesday to Friday 4 days on 3 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth. The Planning & Reliability Superintendent reports to the Processing Manager, and the primary role is to lead the Processing Maintenance planning, scheduling and reliability function to improve plant availability, asset reliability, work management discipline and maintenance execution readiness across the Jundee processing plant.

- Lead the Processing Maintenance planning, scheduling and reliability function.
- Establish and maintain a disciplined weekly planning and scheduling cycle.
- Improve work identification, scoping, planning, scheduling, execution and close-out.
- Embed a plan-do-check-act approach across work management and reliability routines.
- Review, cleanse and control maintenance backlog, including aged, duplicate, obsolete and poorly scoped work orders.
- Improve PM compliance, particularly for critical assets and statutory maintenance.
- Review PM strategies and recommend improvements to task quality, frequency and execution discipline.
- Develop and maintain a practical maintenance KPI dashboard.
- Monitor and report planned work ratio, reactive work, schedule compliance, PM compliance, backlog health, work order quality and reliability performance.
- Lead bad actor reviews and defect elimination for repeat failures and high-impact equipment.
- Ensure reliability actions are practical, prioritised, assigned, resourced and closed out.
- Support shutdown and major work planning, including work pack quality, materials readiness, contractor readiness and post-shutdown close-out.
- Support critical spares reviews and improvement of bills of materials.
- Coach planners, reliability engineers, supervisors and maintenance leaders in work management discipline.
To thrive in this role, you'll need...
Experience: Significant maintenance planning and reliability leadership experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry or fixed plant operations; experience with Pronto, SAP, AMT or similar CMMS; ability to work with imperfect data while improving discipline, systems and reporting quality, experience leading planners, schedulers, reliability engineers or maintenance improvement teams.
Qualifications: Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate, Engineering Qualification, Asset Management Qualification or equivalent relevant experience, Current C Class Australian Drivers Licence.
