About the Role
As a Health & Safety Superintendent within our WA Mining operations and based a Huntly Mine Site, you will play a critical leadership role in driving safety performance, strengthening critical risk management and supporting the implementation of health and safety strategies across multiple operational locations. You will partner closely with leaders at all levels to influence positive safety outcomes, foster continuous improvement and help create a workplace where safety is at the forefront of everything we do. This is a permanent position working a Monday to Friday roster.
In this role, you will:
Lead the implementation of health and safety management systems and critical risk control frameworks across WA operations.
Influence senior leaders and build strong relationships to strengthen safety culture and performance.
Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, governance reviews and strategic safety initiatives.
Lead and support critical safety activities including risk management, audits, investigations and change management.
Hold accountability for the Huntly Emergency Services Department ensuring emergency preparedness is maintained.
Mentor and develop health and safety professionals, supporting capability growth and succession planning.
Provide strategic advice to operational leaders and act in the Health & Safety Manager role as required.

What you can bring to the role
Degree or postgraduate qualification in Health & Safety Management or related discipline.
Proven ability to lead complex health and safety programs within high-risk operational environments.
Strong expertise in risk-based safety management, auditing, inspections and incident investigations.
Demonstrated capability to influence leaders, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive cultural change.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach, mentor and develop teams
Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and a disciplined approach to compliance and risk management.

About the Location
Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
