SESLHD - Senior radiographer (General and Mobile X-Ray) - Prince of Wales Hospital
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to oversee the day to day operations of the General X-Ray Department and Mobile imaging in one of the leading Medical Imaging departments in Sydney. This role is central in maintaining high-quality clinical services, operational excellence and the professional development of qualified and trainee Radiographers.
This department provides imaging services to Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women on the Randwick Campus. The department is spread over multiple sites including satellites in both adult and children’s hospital acute service buildings.

The Role
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.
The role oversees the operational management of the General and Mobile X‑ray section, ensuring efficient use of resources, supporting and developing both qualified and trainee radiographers, and delivering high‑quality imaging services for patients and clinicians, while also providing campus‑wide oversight of radiation and clinical safety for general and mobile X‑ray.
Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
- Hold a degree in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent.
- Possession of AHPRA Medical Radiation Practitioner registration and NSW EPA radiation operator licence
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, and lead change
- Demonstrated excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively direct clinical operations and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of medical imaging workflow in major teaching hospital, with a sound understanding of information technology to manage effective workflow in multiple clinical locations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing clinical priorities and navigate workplace conflict to maintain safe, efficient and collaborative operations.
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and independence to ensure efficient operation that deliver optimal outcomes for patients and referring clinicians.
- Possess a thorough understanding RANZCR general X-ray Quality Assurance program and Continuous Quality Improvement framework and process.
