Iconic Sydney venue, Home The Venue, is looking for energetic, passionate and outgoing Front of House staff to join our team.
The venue
Located in Darling Harbour, Home The Venue has been one of Sydney's longest running venues to date. For more than 20 years, DJ's, Performers, Dancers, Artists, Bands and Promoters have all called our venue home for the night. Spanning 3 levels and 10 bars, we host some of the biggest parties Sydney has ever seen!
The gig
We are looking to expand on our amazing front of house team with some vibrant and passionate people looking to work in the nightlife industry. Whether you're a hospo/ nightlife veteran or an eager newbie wanting to learn, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, friendly and keen to join our team.
Responsibilities
Working within the front door team, your role will be to assist in getting patrons through the front door as efficiently as possible. Key responsibilities include:
- Scanning pre-purchased tickets using ticketing apps (Eventbrite, Moshtix)
- Processing door sales through POS system, including cash handling
- Directing patrons to the correct lines
- Providing great customer service and answering general questions
- Assisting with processing on the night ticket purchases, including accurate eftpos transactions and cash handling
- Work with the security and FOH team to manage egress through peak trade periods
What we are looking for:
- Ability to work overnight shifts and weekend availability essential
- Willing to work public holidays
- Excellent communication skills, warm and personable
- Ability to be proactive, work in a team and have a can-do attitude
- Experience working on the door, ticket scanning or processing ticket sales, at a nightclub or in a fast-paced environment will be highly regarded
While this is a Front of House position, there is always ability to extend to bartending shifts for those who hold a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA). We will not consider any applicants under the age of 18.
Big Beat Australia pays the Restaurant Award Rates. These figures change regularly and at the time of posting this job, a Grade 2 position for someone aged 20 years and over is $33.85 + superannuation per hour to $67.70 + superannuation per hour plus penalty rates when applicable.
