- Impactful analytical and modelling role
- Create influence over long term projects
- Community values centric organisation, true flexible working arrangements
Do you love using models and analysing data sets to explore scenarios and solve complex problems? Join our Water Resource Planning team to help secure water for more than 350,000 people and shape our region’s future.
As Senior Water Resource Analyst, you’ll be using water resource and demand models to underpin some of Barwon Water’s biggest strategic decisions. From forecasting future demand to testing how our systems will respond under different climate scenarios, your sharp analytical skills will directly influence drought preparedness, investment planning and long-term water security.
You'll enjoy working with large datasets, testing assumptions and asking, "what happens if?". We're looking for someone who enjoys digging into complex problems, turning data into insights that matter and models. If you're the sort of person who gets satisfaction from understanding how systems work and using data to make better decisions grounded in evidence, you'll fit right in.
This is a chance to provide the technical intelligence that supports water management across a growing region. If you're naturally curious and complex data sets don’t intimidate you, you'll feel right at home. You won’t be working in the background. You’ll be a trusted advisor who partners with operational teams, planners, executives and external stakeholders to translate technical findings into clear, practical recommendations.
You'll be joining a small high functioning team of experienced water resource engineers who enjoy solving difficult problems together. We challenge each other's thinking, value evidence over opinion, and genuinely enjoy tackling the complex questions that shape our region's water future.
If you’re looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your insights influence real decisions and your work contributes to regional prosperity, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.
You’re naturally curious and a sharp analytical thinker whose degree in engineering, science or a related discipline will underpin your success. You’re ready to apply that expertise to work that genuinely matters. You enjoy solving complex problems, finding patterns in data and using models that support better decisions for our communities, environment and future water security.
You’ll bring strong capability in water resource modelling, demand forecasting, data analysis and reporting, with the confidence to work across large and complex datasets. You can build and explain forecasting approaches, test scenarios and provide clear technical advice, ideally supported by experience with water resource / hydrological modelling, systems modelling or similar.
You’re a clear and collaborative communicator who can bring people with you. You know how to translate technical findings into practical recommendations, build trusted relationships and stay focused in changing environments. If you’re strategic, curious and motivated by impact, you’ll thrive in this role.
