Team: WSP Property & Buildings, Building Services (Mission Critical)
Lead multidisciplinary design management for complex data centre programs and help Australia scale secure, efficient and sustainable digital infrastructure. You will connect strategy to delivery, align stakeholders around clear technical outcomes, and drive continuous improvement in how we design and deliver mission critical facilities.
You will be the trusted coordination point for MEP disciplines and architects, external consultants and client teams from concept through commissioning and handover. Your focus will be strong design governance, on time programs, accurate budgets and assured quality, safety and environmental compliance.
What you’ll do:

Lead teams in the design of data centre critical infrastructure and facilitate regular design forums with internal engineering resources, client stakeholders and external consultants to resolve issues, meet milestones and actively mitigate risk.

Drive process improvements and tool optimisation across the design lifecycle; prepare business review materials; establish metrics for cost, quality and schedule; and feed construction and commissioning data back into continuous improvement.

Set and manage capital design budgets, contribute to business cases for new and existing regions, and collaborate with finance to secure funding and track performance.

Coordinate resources across disciplines and influence design changes based on evolving customer or site needs, maintaining robust document control and change management records.

Champion QA and HSE compliance, capture lessons learned and embed best practice across our mission critical portfolio.

Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or related) or equivalent.

Proven experience in an engineering consultancy delivering large, complex building services projects, ideally mission critical or data centres.

Structured design management capability, including Project Execution Plans, master programs and trackers, change and risk controls, cost and quality KPIs and commercial stewardship of sub consultant scopes.

Stakeholder engagement skills that build trust across clients, contractors, authorities and vendors, supported by crisp communication and documentation.

Working knowledge of Australian Codes and Standards, for example NCC and AS/NZS, and desirable exposure to BIM coordination tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
