Your role:
This is an opportunity to join our Strengthening Families stream, supporting children, young people and families experiencing cumulative and escalating needs.
Working from the Epping Hub, you will provide intensive in-home family support with a strong focus on strengthening parenting capacity, improving family functioning and reducing risk to children.
With a caseload of approximately 8 families, this role offers the opportunity to work deeply and intentionally, balancing risk management with relationship-based intervention.
This role also marks an exciting evolution as the program returns to its original foundations under the Strengthening Families model creating opportunities to contribute to practice growth and shape the future direction of the work.
Make your mark:
- Deliver intensive in-home interventions that strengthen parenting capacity, safety and family resilience.
- Work collaboratively with families experiencing complexity including family violence, mental health concerns, AOD impacts, disability and Child Protection involvement.
- Undertake assessments, develop action plans and coordinate supports aimed at improving outcomes for children.
- Apply trauma-informed, attachment-based and child-focused practice approaches.
- Engage all members of the family system, including working respectfully and safely with people using violence where appropriate.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, behaviour supports, NDIS providers, Child Protection and community services.
- Facilitate care teams, manage case documentation and contribute to coordinated responses.
- Use reflective practice and critical thinking to respond to changing family circumstances and risk.
- Experience using the NCFAS will be highly regarded.
Make it work:
- Salary at SCHCADS Level 5, approximately $105,557 plus super.
- Salary progression available up to Level 5.3, dependent on experience.
- Part time 0.8 EFT, four days per week.
- Fixed term opportunity through to 30th June 2027.
- Based from Epping Hub with travel across the north of Melbourne (pool cars are used).
