Our dedicated Victims Assistance Program assists individuals with their management of the impact of crime. Through the provision of consumer focussed case management services, we promote recovery and minimise secondary victimisation sometimes experienced in the criminal justice systems. We are experts in this space and on the verge of expansion - we currently support 3,000 consumers each year and this will grow as we expand into new regions.

What are the specifics of the role?
In the role of Team Leader, you will directly contribute to our continued success and be joining a dedicated and passionate team leadership team. This team spans 4 key regions across Victoria, Western, Eastern, Southern and Gippsland. You will be supervising approximately 10 employees in the East.
You will support and enable your direct reports (Aboriginal Engagement Worker, Family Violence Practitioner and Victim Support Workers) to deliver a high-quality service for their consumers and to reach their individual potential. You will share and promote our values of respect, integrity, commitment, teamwork, curiosity and courage.
Reporting into the Manager – Trauma & Recovery, you will contribute to continuous quality improvements and the development of the Windermere Strategic Plan. You will have exceptional communication skills and develop strong and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will ensure that the Victims Assistance Program operates within existing legislative and Funding and Service Agreements and ensure compliance of case notes, build strong and effective relationships with Victoria Police services in your region,
A Driver Licence is essential as you’ll be required to support your team across various locations in your region.
This is a full time, 2 year fixed term, hybrid role (work from the office and home), the salary will range from $124k to $130k plus superannuation, plus salary packaging*.

Key Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare or relevant and related discipline. Bachelor’s degree or higher or willingness to undertake is highly desirable.
- Experience in a leadership role within the community sector in a trauma related area preferred.
- Attend and work from various co-location sites, including but not limited to Victoria Police Stations.
- Victoria Police Clearance for co-location purposes.
- An understanding of the impact of violent crime on the individual, families and community.
- Sound knowledge of the complexities of family violence and sexual assault.
- Comprehensive MARAM knowledge/training or willingness to complete this (required).
- Demonstrated awareness of the needs of people from diverse background and cultures.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma informed practice.
- Demonstrated capacity to work constructively with funding bodies, partners and other stakeholders and represent the organization at a variety of external forums.
- High level communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality services and a culture of continuous learning.
- Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
- Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence
- Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks - including, Police Check, Pre-Employment Medical and Working with Children's check
- Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or visa holder with full working rights
