About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team at Codex Consulting. As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative web applications that drive the success of our clients' businesses. This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne office, with the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.
What you'll be doing
- Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from conceptualisation to deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient web applications using the latest technologies and best practices
- Implement front-end and back-end functionality, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
- Continuously research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices
- Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing your expertise and knowledge to help them grow
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' applications
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a full-stack developer, with a proven track record of delivering robust and scalable web applications
- Strong proficiency in modern frontend development using TypeScript and frameworks such as React
- Experience developing backend services using technologies such as Node.js, Python, or similar, with a focus on scalable API design
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern UI development
- Experience designing and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) including schema design and query optimisation
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code principles, and secure software development practices
- Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud-native development, preferably on AWS, including containerised applications
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams and collaborating with designers, product managers, and other engineers
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies and engineering practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, and API Gateway
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Experience with authentication technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and identity providers like Okta or Auth0
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code etc.
- Exposure to geospatial applications, data engineering, or AI/ML solutions
