About the Role
This is a full-time, ongoing position reporting to the Managing Director and working with the sales, procurement, inventory and production functions. The Data Analyst & BI Developer will analyse sales, inventory, procurement and production data across the business and turn it into meaningful insights for decision-makers. The successful candidate will design and maintain dashboards and management reports, automate reporting processes, and apply data science and forecasting techniques to improve resource planning and overall business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse sales, inventory, procurement and production data and translate it into actionable insights for management.
- Develop dashboards and management reports and automate reporting processes using Python, SQL Server and Power BI.
- Review and analyse business workflows to identify improvement opportunities and deliver data-driven solutions for production planning, purchasing, inventory control and sales operations.
- Apply data science and forecasting techniques to understand demand trends, support effective resource planning and improve overall business efficiency.
- Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Develop analytical and forecasting models to support decision-making and drive continuous operational improvement.
Skills and Experience Required
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or a related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in data analysis and business intelligence development, ideally within a manufacturing or trading environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL Server and Power BI for data analysis, reporting and dashboard development.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL processes using SSIS.
- Sound understanding of data science and forecasting techniques and the ability to build analytical and forecasting models.
- Ability to analyse business workflows and translate data into practical, data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
