Talented DevOps / Platform Engineers who desire to apply their skills to Defence projects in areas such as Electronic Warfare, Future Military Cloud Native Systems, Machine Learning, Command, Control, Communications, Computing & Intelligence (C4I) and Cyber Security. What you will do
- Development and deployment of prototype Defence systems and capabilities using a wide variety of cloud-native technologies using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work within a team to consult with Defence clients to identify their requirements and then plan development and delivery activities.
- Work with a wide variety of state-of-the-art technologies and practices - E.g. Microservices, Data-Centric Security, Zero Trust, DevSecOps, Kafka/NATS, Containers (Docker), Kubernetes.
- Learn and adopt existing Automation practices into the development (e.g. Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD) environment to more effectively develop, test and deliver software.
- Contribute to the technical quality of the team through code reviews, design reviews and collaborative development.
- Continue to develop your technical ability through both on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.

Swordfish is headquartered in the Adelaide CBD with our teams operating from both Adelaide and Edinburgh.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Containerisation in Docker.
- Orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Experience with Helm (version 3) desirable.
- Microservice architectures.
- Automation using Ansible.
- Continuous Integration pipelines (preferably GitLab) and Continuous Deployment technologies.
- Experience with Data Pipeline and Data Lakehouse technologies (e.g. Dagster, Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop) would be highly valued.
- Agile practices and development methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Systems Engineering.
- Australian Citizenship
