We are building a casual pool of social workers to support older people, people with disability and veterans across our aged care, NDIS and DVA services. This is casework with the time to actually do it properly — manageable caseloads, and clinical leadership you can reach.
Being upfront about timing: this is casual pool recruitment. Our aged care application is still in progress, and services in that stream cannot commence until it is approved, so we are not able to give you a firm start date — that decision is not ours to make. Work may not begin for some months. What we are doing now is recruiting, screening and inducting people so that when approval comes through you can start promptly rather than waiting another six weeks on paperwork.
There are no guaranteed hours and no fixed roster at this stage. Joining the pool commits you to nothing, you are free to hold other work while you wait, and you can decline shifts that do not suit you. If you need guaranteed hours starting immediately, we would rather tell you now that this is not the right role for you. Some casual shifts may become available sooner through our existing NDIS services, though please do not apply on the assumption of immediate work. We will keep you posted on where the application is up to either way.
About Reachwell Support
Reachwell Support Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider delivering community and in-home supports across Western Sydney and surrounding areas. We are expanding into aged care and home care, including Support at Home and DVA community nursing. We are a small, clinically-led team — you will know the people you work with, and your work will be visible.
Pay
- $58.38 to $66.79 per hour, depending on your experience. This is SCHADS Award Level 4 to Level 5 including the 25 per cent casual loading, at the rates that applied from 1 July 2026.
- For context, the permanent full-time equivalent of that range is approximately $92,000 to $105,500 per year plus superannuation.
- Penalty rates apply on top for evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Hours are not guaranteed. You are offered shifts as they become available and you can decline any that do not suit you.
- Travel time between clients is paid, and a kilometre allowance applies.
- As a casual you are paid the loading in place of annual leave and personal leave. Superannuation of 12 per cent is paid on your earnings.
- Permanent part-time or full-time appointment may follow once the service is established and caseload volumes are known.

- Identify and respond to risk of harm, abuse, neglect and financial exploitation, and act on safeguarding obligations
- Support carers experiencing strain, and coordinate respite where needed
- Coordinate with GPs, specialists, hospitals, aged care assessment teams, plan managers and other providers
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussion and to intake and complex case decisions
- Maintain clinical documentation to the Aged Care Quality Standards, the NDIS Practice Standards and AASW professional standards
What you will need
- Bachelor or Master of Social Work from an AASW-accredited course
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Demonstrated assessment, casework and advocacy skills with older people or people with disability

- Experience with Home Care Packages, Support at Home or the Commonwealth Home Support Programme
- Experience with DVA clients and an understanding of veterans’ needs
- Experience in support coordination or specialist support coordination
- Experience with dementia, palliative care or complex family dynamics
- Accredited Mental Health Social Worker status
What we offer
- Manageable caseloads — we would rather do fewer cases well
- Professional supervision and a professional development allowance
- Flexible scheduling that fits around other commitments
- Direct access to the clinical lead and the Director
- Genuine scope to shape how the aged care service is built, rather than inheriting someone else’s system
