About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in North Geelong.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day production operation and leading our production teams to achieve strong performance across productivity, safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory (PSQDCI).
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain and other areas of the business to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and consistently.
The role will involve:
- Leading and developing production teams to achieve operational targets.
- Managing daily production activities, scheduling and capacity requirements.
- Driving productivity improvements and reducing waste, downtime and bottlenecks.
- Maintaining high standards of safety and quality across the factory.
- Ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of customer orders.
- Managing production costs, labour efficiency, equipment utilisation and waste.
- Maintaining accurate and appropriate inventory levels.
- Using production data and KPIs to identify issues and improve performance.
- Driving Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, standard work and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leading daily performance reviews and supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

About You
We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who is:
- An experienced Production or Manufacturing Manager with strong people leadership skills.
- Results focused and able to drive accountability across a production team.
- Experienced in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Strong at analysing production, quality and financial data to make decisions.
- A confident problem solver who can identify issues and implement practical solutions.
- Able to plan and prioritise production activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Safety focused and committed to maintaining high WHS standards.
- Quality focused with a strong attention to detail.
- A clear and effective communicator who can work across different areas of the business.
- Able to coach, motivate and develop production teams.
- Experienced in managing productivity, quality, delivery and cost performance.
- Practical, hands-on and comfortable working on the factory floor.
Experience in aluminium, windows and doors, construction products or a similar manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a production or manufacturing management role is preferred. A qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field is desirable, as is Lean or Six Sigma training.
