At the City of Playford, you will play a key role in delivering the roads, drainage and infrastructure that support one of South Australia's fastest-growing regions. You will join a highly experienced and supportive Engineering Services team where technical expertise is valued, ideas are encouraged and achievements are recognised. Working closely with experienced leaders and industry professionals, you will have the opportunity to learn, and professional growth is actively supported.
As a key technical specialist within the team, you will provide expertise in the assessment, design review and quality assurance of land development projects. Working across the full development lifecycle, you will partner with developers, consultants and contractors while balancing technical design reviews, stakeholder negotiations and on-site inspections to ensure infrastructure is delivered to the highest standard.
What you will get to do:

Assess engineering designs and land development proposals against legislation, standards and Council requirements.

Provide expert engineering advice on subdivision, development and infrastructure matters.

Work with developers, consultants and contractors throughout planning, design and construction phases.

Oversee the construction, inspection and asset handover of roads, drainage and associated civil infrastructure.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, specifications and processes.

Support Council decision-making through technical advice and recommendations

To be successful, you will bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering

Minimum of 5-years demonstrated experience in Civil Design and Construction.

Candidates with less experience who can demonstrate relevant qualifications, capability, and potential are also encouraged to apply, as they may be considered for alternative opportunities.

Strong understanding of civil infrastructure, stormwater, roads and subdivision development

Experience interpreting engineering standards, legislation and development requirements

Sound project management, quality assurance and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment

Strong professional judgement and a practical approach to balancing technical requirements with real-world outcomes
