Tesla Energy continues to grow at rapid speed, deploying our Industrial Energy solution (Megapack) across the APAC region, to support the growth of renewable energy at the grid scale. This role would suit a Netork Engineer looking to specialize in industrial environment networking. The successful applicant will provide network and server engineering, implementation, automation, analytical, and operational support. The engineer will ensure compliance to established system architecture, regulations and security policies, follow standards and best practices, and help author and maintain support documentation.
As a network engineer on an existing multi-functional OT team in APAC, you will specialise in network engineering, and also support server engineering for industrial environments. This role will provide networking and server implementation, management, automation and support. The engineer will ensure compliance to established system architecture, regulations and security policies, follow standards and best practices, and help author and maintain support documentation.

What You'll Do-
Contribute to global network and server designs and initiatives

Maintain current network solutions within industrial energy sites

Deploy networks for new industrial energy sites

Function as a Tier 2-3 escalation point

Gather requirements, analyze, and propose solution to networking needs

Provision, implement, test/validate, and maintain networking services per existing designs

Conduct product POC evaluation
-
Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of network services

Document processes and information in a knowledgebase and operational run-books
-
Implement automation to speed up processes

Meet Australian critical infrastructure security requirements

Must be able to work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidays

Must be able to lift 50lbs/25Kg
-
Participate in on call rotation

15% travel required as necessary
What You'll Bring
Note: We’re not expecting you to have all of these, but the more the better.

1+ year experience in production industrial or manufacturing networking infrastructure, preferably in the energy industry.
-
Operational experience in IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols (spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP, industrial ring protocols), TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, end to end QOS/COS (focused on industrial real-time protocols), VLAN, VRRP, LACP, SDWAN, EVPN with VXLAN, ACL, application flow, NAC, and infrastructure cabling.

Operational experience with multi-vendor industrial switching technologies including Cisco IE (IOS and IOS XE/IOx), Hirschmann, Siemens, Beckhoff, Moxa, N-Tron, Redlion and similar industrial switches and PLCs.

Working experience with other common non-industrial switching platforms such as Juniper, Arista, etc.

Working experience with industrial protocols such as CIP Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, BACnet, EtherCAT, MODBUS and similar protocols.

Experience with Cisco Zone-Based Firewall, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX Palo Alto Networks, or Fortinet firewall services, including Application inspection, IPSEC VPN, URL filtering, and IDS/IPS.

Experience with various tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, Netflow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, network taps, SPAN ICS scanners (CyberVision, Clarory, Tenable, etc.), and load/stress testing.

Experience with developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics (Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, etc).

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and other common tools.

CCNP, CCNA, or Industrial (e.g. ISA/IEC) certifications.

Linux, Microsoft Server, VMware vSphere experience.

SQL Server, Veeam, Active Directory experience.

A strong focus on documentation.

A drive to deliver projects, even when faced with difficult obstacles.

Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Light software development experience preferred.
