About the Role

As an Assistant Manager in our Business Services team, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services while supporting the development of junior team members.

Working closely with Managers and Partners, you'll play a key role in reviewing work, mentoring team members, managing client relationships and contributing to the successful delivery of client engagements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to take the next step into a leadership role or an Assistant Manager looking to expand their current duties.

BDO's Business Services division helps clients succeed by delivering world-class advisory and compliance support across all areas of their business. Our Brisbane team works with clients ranging from emerging businesses to large private groups and high-net-worth individuals across a diverse range of industries.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns across a range of entity structures.
Deliver business and tax advisory services, including tax planning and business structuring advice.
Manage day-to-day client relationships and act as a trusted point of contact.
Review work prepared by junior team members and provide timely feedback.
Mentor, coach and support Graduates, Accountants and Intermediate Accountants in their professional development.
Assist Managers with workflow coordination, delegation and prioritisation of work across the team.
Support the delivery of complex client engagements and advisory projects.
Liaise with clients, Managers and Partners to ensure work is delivered accurately and on time.
Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

About you

CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
Experience within a Business Services or professional services accounting environment.
Strong technical capability across financial statements, tax compliance and advisory services.
Experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior team members.
Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and manage multiple engagements.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
A genuine interest in developing others and building your leadership capability.
