The Opportunity
Australian Government agencies are investing in systems that deliver essential public services. This work requires engineers, architects, and analysts who can operate within Commonwealth governance and secure environments.
We are seeking experienced ICT professionals to join our Bureau Veritas Consultancy Services team in Canberra, Sydney, or Melbourne. You will support programs that modernise government operations and work across a diverse portfolio, including solution and systems architecture, cloud and platform engineering, cyber security, data engineering and analytics, business analysis, test and evaluation, and technical documentation.

The roles
We are recruiting engineering, architecture, analysis and assurance professionals to deliver ICT programs for Australian Government clients. Roles sit across the following disciplines:
- Solution Architecture
- Systems Engineering
- Security Engineering and Security Architecture
- Cloud and Platform Engineering (Azure)
- Data Engineering and Data Science
- Business Analysis
- Test and Evaluation
- ICT Technical Writing
You will work within established Australian Government governance, processes and tools, alongside client teams and other suppliers, on programs delivering into secure environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop solution and system architectures, design documentation and interface definitions for Australian Government ICT environments.
- Produce engineering analysis, requirements and high-level design artefacts that support technical and investment decision-making.
- Elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements, and trace them through design, build and acceptance.
- Design, build and operate Azure cloud and platform services, covering infrastructure as code, identity, networking and integration.
- Design and implement security architectures and controls aligned to the ISM, the PSPF and the Essential Eight.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, data models and reporting products, and apply analytical and machine learning techniques to operational data.
- Plan and execute test and evaluation activities, covering test strategy, test cases, defect management and acceptance criteria.
- Author technical documentation, standards and operating procedures to agency documentation requirements.
- Work with client stakeholders, service owners and suppliers to resolve technical issues and dependencies.
About You
- Australian citizen holding an active Baseline security clearance, or eligible to obtain one.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the disciplines listed above, with the depth to own a work product end-to-end.
- Delivery experience in Australian Government or other regulated environments, working within established governance, assurance and reporting frameworks.
- Relevant certification such as Microsoft Azure, TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, ISTQB or equivalent.
- Clear written communication and the ability to produce documentation for both technical and executive audiences.
- Comfortable working across concurrent workstreams under regular reporting cycles.
