Gunn Agri Partners manages over $1.2bn of assets and commitments managed across six investment platforms. Gunn Agri manages agriculture assets Australia wide in mixed farming, grains, grass fed protein, tree nuts, stone fruit and natural capital.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer - Platforms, you will lead the finance function across designated investment platforms, overseeing financial accounting, reporting, compliance and administration while mentoring and developing a small finance team.
Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you'll provide financial insight that supports strategic decision-making, strengthens governance and drives continuous improvement across finance operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys balancing technical accounting with business partnering and leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting across designated platforms.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and management reports to support business performance.
- Oversee general finance operations across designated platforms.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships and debt facilities.
- Coordinate statutory reporting and external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation obligations and internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements across finance systems and workflows.
- Lead, coach and develop a small finance team.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial financial advice and insights.
About You
You are an experienced Financial Controller or senior finance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys building strong relationships across the business.
You'll bring:

CA or CPA qualification.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in financial control within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience using Xero (or similar systems).
- Experience in accounting for agricultural entities will be highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
