We are hiring an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Data Center Networks) with strong expertise in Cisco ACI and NX-OS technologies to design, implement, support, and optimize enterprise-scale data center network environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering resilient, scalable, and secure network solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support critical business infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support data center network solutions using Cisco ACI and Cisco NX-OS technologies.
- Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), implementation plans, test strategies, and operational runbooks.
- Configure, deploy, and manage Cisco ACI fabrics, including APIC controllers, leaf and spine architectures, tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, contracts, and application profiles.
- Perform installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of Cisco Nexus switches and related data center networking platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents involving routing, switching, security, and application connectivity issues across data center and enterprise environments.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Collaborate with network architects, infrastructure teams, security teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver network solutions aligned with organizational requirements.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, patches, and technology refresh initiatives with minimal business impact.
- Implement and maintain network security policies, segmentation strategies, and best practices within the ACI environment.
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability network architectures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network designs, configurations, changes, standards, and operational procedures.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, including root cause analysis and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging Cisco technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to network architecture and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and operational support teams when required.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) and Cisco NX-OS.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale data center network environments.
- Deep understanding of data center networking concepts including:
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
- VXLAN
- EVPN
- Spine-Leaf architectures
- VRFs
- VLANs
- Routing and switching technologies
- Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus platform administration and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, STP, and multicast technologies.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across both enterprise and data center environments.
- Experience managing network migrations, upgrades, and large-scale implementation projects.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation and design artefacts.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with network automation and programmability using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Terraform, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management platforms.
- Experience working in hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with security technologies including firewalls, micro-segmentation, and data center security frameworks.
- Exposure to VMware NSX, VMware vSphere, Red Hat, Linux, or other virtualization and cloud platforms
Certifications (Preferred)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center
- Cisco DevNet Professional / DevNet Associate
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Data Center
- Relevant cloud or virtualization certifications are advantageous
