HIA Insurance Services (HIAIS) is a specialist insurance broker, providing insurance products and risk advice to the residential building industry. Formed in 1984, HIAIS is as a joint venture between two leaders in their respective industries, Aon and the Housing Industry Association (HIA).

Business Development Executive | HIAIS - South Australia

We have a rare opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our HIA Insurance Services team. You’ll be responsible for generating new business and optimising cross sell opportunities which HIAIS can deliver.

Our joint venture provides us with the unique opportunity to leverage the risk and insurance expertise of Aon, with the HIA's deep knowledge of the housing industry.

HIA is Australia’s only national building industry association, representing the interests of the housing industry at regional and national levels. Our extensive membership program for the last 70 years has supported residential builders, trade contractors, developers, design professionals and more.

What the day will look like

As the Business Development Executive, you will achieve success by providing exceptional client service, developing & managing a prospect pipeline as well as providing quotes and terms to new business opportunities.

Other key duties will include:

Focusing on driving new business sales for HIAIS
Develop and maintain a sales pipeline
Effective client handover with Broking Team to manage ongoing client relationships
Monitor and report on budget results
Meet with prospects, presenting a compelling value proposition and identifying cross-sell opportunities for clients

Skills and experience that will lead to success

This opportunity would suit someone with solid a foundation and knowledge in general insurance, with a passion for prospecting new business opportunities and a knack for identifying client needs.

To be successful you will have:

2 + years industry experience (insurance broking preferred)
Understanding the scope of risk products, service offerings and their delivery systems
Motivated and entrepreneurial in approach to generating new business
Negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders in a professional manner
Effective time management and organisational skills
