We are seeking a Production Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Canberra.
About the role
- Develop and maintain best in market relationships across assigned panel of Brokers.
- Ensure business bound is aligned with divisional objectives as well as growth and profit portfolio balance
- Identify profitable new business opportunities and the maximize conversion or strike rate of desired business
- Maximize the retention of preferred accounts and work with Underwriters to ensure timely review of exception renewal business
- Facilitate planned strategy meetings with Account Managers
- Keep abreast of market conditions and trends and provide feedback to team members and act to capitalize on new business opportunities.
About you
- Significant experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organization
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes
- Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, organize tasks and manage competing resources and demands
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organization
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimize business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
