The Senior Manager, GESB Platforms is accountable for the operations, support, development and roadmap of the applications supporting the GESB portfolio, including Administration, Workflow, Imaging and CRM.
The role provides end-to-end ownership of the GESB application landscape, ensuring platforms are stable, resilient, secure, well supported and aligned to current and emerging business needs. Working closely with Group Technology, the role ensures application architecture, controls, lifecycle plans and investment priorities support operational continuity, regulatory expectations and long-term platform relevance.
As the senior platform owner for GESB, the role partners with business, portfolio and the client to oversee the delivery of change in line Group Policy and standards and in conjunction with business and client stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Strategic Platform Leadership
- Own the end‑to‑end strategy, roadmap, lifecycle, and continuous improvement plan for the assigned platform.
- Ensure platform design, capability uplift, and investment priorities align with enterprise strategy and business needs.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the platform’s users, value proposition, dependencies, risks, and regulatory obligations.
- Lead platform optimisation, consolidation opportunities, lifecycle refresh, and technology debt reduction activities.
- Define clear platform KPIs, success measures, and performance outcomes.
Technology Delivery &Operations
- Oversee platform availability, performance, resilience, and service management outcomes and manage platform features, enhancements, and capability updates through structured discovery, design, and prioritisation.
- Lead incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management activities.
- Manage enhancement delivery from discovery through to implementation.
- Support testing, release planning, and rollout activities to minimise business disruption.
- Support testing strategies, release planning, and rollout coordination to minimise service disruption.
- Manage vendor relationships relevant to the platform, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, service standards, and performance expectations.
- Support commercial assessments, procurement activity, and contract renewals as required.
- Monitor vendor performance and escalate risks, gaps, or service degradation.
- Maintain current risk registers, control documentation, platform assessments, and business continuity artefacts.
- Lead proactive management of cyber controls, vulnerabilities, audit actions, and operational resilience requirements

- Lead and develop high performing multidisciplinary teams (developers, business/systems analysts, or vendor resources).
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer centricity.
- Mentor and coach team members to build capability and support career growth
- Manage capacity to support business objectives and fee for service targets
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary point of accountability for platform performance, risk posture, roadmap progress, and change impacts.
- Build strong relationships across business, client teams, operations, risk, finance, and Client delivery portfolio partners.
- Clearly communicate platform direction, operational updates, changes, risks, and improvement initiatives.
Ensure user feedback, business strategy, and customer expectations guide platform priorities.

About You
You'll bring a blend of strategic thinking, operational leadership, and stakeholder management experience, with a proven ability to lead complex technology platforms in large-scale environments.
You'll have:
- Extensive experience managing complex technology platforms, enterprise systems, or digital product portfolios in regulated or complex technology environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of platform operations, service management, system integration, security, and lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated capability in translating business needs into platform requirements, features, and roadmaps.
- Experience in incident management, operational leadership, and vendor oversight.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, opportunities, and operational impacts.
- Experience leading teams, building capability, and fostering a high performance culture.
- Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer centric solutions and have a proven customer focus and a strategic mindset.
Desirable
- Degree in Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications in ITIL, Agile, Product Management, Cloud, or Service Management.
Experience within financial services, operations platforms, or customer facing technology ecosystems.
