Our Statutory Compliance Planning and Engagement branch is currently seeking to appoint an Information Specialist on an ongoing basis.

As an Information Analyst within the Water Group’s Business Planning & Systems team, you will play a key role in transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support water management, regulatory activities and strategic decision-making across NSW. Working closely with program teams, senior leaders and external stakeholders, you'll develop and enhance data governance and information management practices while leveraging tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Smartsheet to deliver high-quality reporting, dashboards and business intelligence solutions. The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects focused on sustainable water outcomes, continuous improvement and open data initiatives, within a collaborative and customer-focused team culture that values innovation, knowledge sharing and evidence-based decision-making

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring

Demonstrated experience collecting, analysing and interpreting large, complex datasets to deliver meaningful insights, reports and recommendations that support operational and strategic decision-making.
Strong proficiency in data management, analysis and visualisation tools, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Smartsheet.
Experience developing, maintaining or supporting information management systems, data governance frameworks and reporting processes to improve data quality, accessibility and business outcomes.
Ability to source, consolidate and analyse data from multiple internal and external sources to identify trends, risks, opportunities and areas for continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, build collaborative relationships and deliver customer-focused outcomes with accuracy and attention to detail
