We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and career-focused individual to join our culinary team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef looking to further develop their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently, to a high standard, and in compliance with food hygiene and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus, estimate food and kitchen labour costs, and order supplies
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Liaise with the Director, kitchen and service staff regarding food preparation
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise kitchen staff on procedures when required
- Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
- Ensure compliance with and enforcement of hygiene and safety regulations
- Assist with the selection and training of kitchen staff
- Manage food storage, including freezing and preservation where necessary
About You
- Maintain a strong guest focus at all times
- Take responsibility for the quality of all dishes served
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests
- Complete opening and closing checklists accurately
- Follow daily preparation lists at the start of each shift
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience working as a chef
