The Opportunity
SCNITS Australia is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing technology team in Melbourne. This role offers the opportunity to design and develop next-generation AI-powered software solutions for global clients while working alongside experienced engineers, AI specialists, and business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of intelligent software platforms using modern AI technologies and cloud-based architectures. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and scalable enterprise software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered software applications using Node.js, LangChain, LangGraph, and Flowise.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate emerging Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI technologies into enterprise solutions.
- Develop AI applications involving Natural Language Processing (NLP), computer vision, sentiment analysis, and deep learning.
- Design and implement AI agents, intelligent workflows, and backend services using modern AI frameworks.
- Build secure, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise applications.
- Develop and train Machine Learning models using supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Design statistical and predictive models using neural networks, classification, and regression algorithms.
- Work across multiple technologies including Python, Node.js, C++, .NET, WPF, and WCF, where required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, project managers, business analysts, and clients to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in software architecture, code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure software solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and quality standards.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js.
- Experience or exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and neural networks.
- Experience developing secure and scalable APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High level of attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications
The following certifications and experience will be highly regarded:
- Bachelor’s degree
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- Certified Generative AI Association or equivalent AI certification
- Experience with AI agent frameworks and orchestration platforms (training will also be provided)
