Full Job Description

Ferngrove Pharmaceuticals Australia is a TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) licensed Contract Manufacturing facility, specializing in complementary medicines and health food products, all manufactured under strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines. The company is looking for a Science Technician to join us in our head office on a permanent full-time basis.

About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Science Technician to join our team. You will need to study, improve existing products and development of new products, such as maternal and infant products, lactoferrin, probiotics, dairy products and immune bacterial products.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform research and experiments on different kinds of plant, probiotics and algae, investigate their chemical structure and components by systematic observation as well as effects on human organs and metabolism system;

Improve existing products or develop new products by applying plant extraction, probiotics and algae materials, make trials and send to customer for their approval;

Collect samples of raw materials, in-process and finished products;

Perform routine chemical and microbiological analyses in laboratory, such as exam bacteria, fungi, yeast and other micro-organisms;

Develop analytical methods for non-compendium raw materials and validate the methods;

Control the quality and quantity of laboratory supplies by testing samples and monitoring usage;

Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment. Prepare and maintain documentation and follow up general testing duties;

Writing experiment reports and liaise with internal stakeholders in manufacturing, R&D manager and quality assurance.

Key requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Bioscience related

Minimum one year work experience in similar role

Good oral and written communication skills

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Co-operative Team worker is a must

Bilingual preferred (English & Mandarin)
