About us

SafeWork NSW is the state's workplace health and safety regulator. Our mission is to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses by ensuring workplaces comply with health and safety laws. We achieve this through a mix of responsive and proactive programs targeting high-risk areas across all industries, aligned with our strategic plan and regulatory priorities.

About the role

This role sits within the Data and Digital Systems Directorate of Strategic and Corporate Services and is responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of end-to-end digital products and experiences that deliver meaningful customer value and support keeping workers in NSW safe and healthy. The role combines product ownership and human-centred design to drive strategy, shape product direction and ensure the delivery of high-quality, accessible and user-focused solutions.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams across the full product lifecycle- from discovery and ideation through to delivery, support and continuous improvement- ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and customer needs.

About You

This role would suit someone who is passionate about creating high-quality digital experiences and leading teams to deliver products that make a meaningful impact. You bring a strong balance of product leadership, strategic thinking, design expertise, and technical acumen with a focus on delivering value for customers and the organisation.

In addition, you may bring:

Experience leading digital product development and design across the full lifecycle, from strategy and discovery through to delivery and continuous improvement
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience leading multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
Experience developing and managing product roadmaps, backlogs and prioritisation frameworks aligned to strategic outcomes
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to align diverse perspectives and drive outcomes
Experience leading user research and translating insights into actionable product and design decisions
Ability to balance competing priorities, manage complexity and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes
Strong commercial and strategic acumen, including understanding product performance, value and sustainability
Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
A commitment to staying current with industry trends, tools and practices in product management and digital design
Salesforce experience is desirable
