Join Manningham's Communications, Engagement and Brand team and help bring Council's stories to life.
We're looking for a strategic communicator and natural storyteller who can turn complex issues into clear, compelling messages. You'll lead communication and engagement campaigns, provide trusted advice, manage sensitive issues and build meaningful connections with our community.
About the role
No 2 days are the same.
One day you might be launching a community campaign, the next you're preparing media responses, advising project teams or developing content that helps residents understand important Manningham Council initiatives.I
You will be working as the business partner for our City Planning and Liveability directorate which will include assisting the Integrated Planning and City Safety teams.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Lead strategic communication and engagement campaigns from concept to delivery.
- Create engaging content across digital, print, social media, newsletters and speeches.
- Provide expert advice to leaders and project teams.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, community groups and media.
- Support community consultation, issues management and reputation-building activities.
About you
You know how to find the story behind the information and communicate it in a way that connects with people.
You'll bring:
- Experience delivering successful communications and engagement campaigns.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Strong media, stakeholder and issues management experience.
- Sound judgement and confidence working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for delivering great outcomes.
Qualifications and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline.
- Experience in a similar communications or engagement role.
- Journalism experience will be highly regarded.
- IAP2 Certificate in Engagement (desirable).
