About the Position:
Flinders University is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Education (Inclusive Education) to shape inclusive education through outstanding teaching, impactful research, and meaningful partnerships with schools, education systems, and community organisations. You will contribute to the development of future educators and advance evidence-informed approaches that strengthen inclusive practice and improve learning outcomes for diverse learners, including students with disability, neurodivergent learners, and those with complex educational needs.
Working across accredited Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and postgraduate Education programs, you will help strengthen the connection between research and practice, contributing to innovative curriculum, externally funded research, and collaborative engagement with the education sector.
In this position, you will:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Education programs using face-to-face, online and blended learning approaches.
- Design and develop innovative curriculum and learning experiences that enhance student engagement and prepare graduates to support diverse learners.
- Undertake high-quality research in inclusive education, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, competitive grant applications and research supervision appropriate to career stage.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with schools, education systems, industry and community organisations to enhance teaching, research and real-world impact.
- (Senior Lecturer only) Provide academic leadership through curriculum development, course or topic coordination, mentoring colleagues and contributing to accreditation and quality assurance activities.
This position is open to domestic and international candidates. Relocation and visa support is available.
About You
You are an emerging or established academic with expertise in inclusive education and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, impactful research and meaningful engagement that advances inclusive educational practice.
Your expertise may include inclusive education, autism and education, neurodiversity, supporting learners with complex needs, learning disabilities, differentiated teaching, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
You will demonstrate:
- Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated capability, or clear potential, to deliver high-quality tertiary teaching, including involvement in topic coordination and curriculum design.
- Evidence of a strong research track record appropriate to career stage in inclusive education or a related field, including peer-reviewed publications and success in attracting external competitive grant funding.
- (Senior Lecturer only) Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, research supervision, accreditation activities and academic mentoring.
