The Opportunity
As Veolia’s Data Platform Manager you will lead the cross-functional engineering and platform team responsible for designing, building, and operating Veolia ANZ’s enterprise data platform infrastructure, data warehouse, and data lake solution. You will manage four technical leads and an overall team of nine, with additional project resources to deliver high-performing, secure, and compliant data ingestion pipelines and curated master data to empower company-wide analytics and strategic value creation. You will manage vendor and system integrator relationships as well as ensure project data engineering resources follow our data architecture.
This is a position for a senior and experienced technical manager with strategic management ability and capacity to lead people to effective outcomes. Veolia is a large organisation with constantly changing needs, so this role will suit your agility and ability to pivot as the business needs. To do this, you will need 10+ years of relevant experience, several years of team leadership experience and your knowledge of Snowflake and DataVault 2.0 will be essential.

What you'll be responsible for
Team Leadership & Culture: Build, mentor, and direct a cohesive, cross-functional team.
Global & Local Collaboration: Partner with global and ANZ stakeholders to execute the Data Strategy and Roadmap.
Formulate clear solutions to complex business problems and accept full ownership of strategic/tactical outcomes.
Value Forecasting & FinOps: Partner with business leaders to forecast capital investment savings, implementing measurement frameworks to track value realization via the DMO.
Cloud Platform Architecture: Accountable for the architecture, testing, implementation, and maintenance of Veolia’s cloud data warehouse and data lake
Data architecture, Ingestion & Data Pipelines: Plan and execute scalable ingestion/ELT pipelines.
What you'll need to be successful
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or similar
Extensive experience in data architecture, data analysis and data modeling (10+ years essential)
Extensive experience in data quality maintenance, data security, data privacy, cloud data warehouse management and requirements analysis
Strong leadership experience (3+ years) working with complex data, information and technology environments and successfully delivering customer-centric services, applications, infrastructure and data services
