Education and Social Participation | Werribee Education | Maximum Term - Full-time

Maximum Term, Full-time position available to 1 November 2027, based at our Werribee Education Hub
The Work Placement Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating student work placements across various Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses
Annual salary is $79,627 + 12% super

About the role:

The VET Work Placement Coordinator position involves developing strong relationships with industry partners, supporting students in their placement journey, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This position requires excellent stakeholder engagement, working closely with relevant managers, support and delivery AMES clients and community partners, and host organisations for work placement for VET students. This position ensures students gain meaningful, industry-relevant experiences that align with their course requirements and career goals.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

Minimum Certificate III in Business Administration, Business, Education, Community Services or similar field; AND
At least 3 years’ experience in an administration role, in work placement coordination, in vocational education, in industry partnership, in education, social or community services; AND
A current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or other qualification in Adult Education
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work placements in education, training, or a related industry
Proven ability to establish and maintain strategic partnerships with community service organisations and employers
Strong knowledge of compliance requirements in the VET sector, including ASQA, Skills First, ACWA and other regulatory frameworks
Strong interpersonal and professional skills including the ability to build and maintain working stakeholder relationships and to advocate on a client’s behalf to achieve effective work placements
Ability to maintain respectful, equitable, fair, and honest interaction with clients, staff, and external stakeholders, maintaining a culturally safe and sensitive environment
Proven organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, plan work programs, and meet deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a busy environment
Proficiency in using databases, spreadsheets, and other relevant software tools
Ability to provide clear guidance and feedback to placement students in the context of individual and group supervision
Strong knowledge of the VET sector, including industry trends, requirements and job market demands
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent administrative efficiency and record-keeping skills
Commitment to creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment
This position may require occasional travel to visit placement sites and attend industry meetings.
It is a mandatory requirement for the position holder to have and maintain a current Working With Children Check (Employee).
