We’re looking for an experienced Branch Manager to drive profitable growth, operational discipline, customer confidence and a high-performing team while ensuring full business, regulatory, safety and environmental compliance located in Perth.

Key Position Expectations

Customer Growth and Relationships

Own the branch customer experience and act as the senior escalation point for service issues.
Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, overseas offices and agent partners.
Work with Commercial to protect existing revenue, develop new opportunities and exceed growth targets.
Ensure major accounts have clear account management and customer service ownership.
Maintain a credible, current sales pipeline in Dynamics and convert opportunities into profitable business.

Operational Leadership

Lead day-to-day branch operations and hold department managers accountable for service, productivity and results.
Ensure import, export, customs, transport and warehouse activities are timely, compliant and cost-effective.
Set, monitor and improve local and global operational performance measures.
Provide the tools, equipment, capacity and skills required for safe, efficient and quality-focused delivery.
Resolve non-conformance quickly and drive practical continuous improvement.

Financial Performance

Own the branch profit and loss result and exceed monthly budget targets.
Control operating costs, resources and revenue allocation with strong financial discipline.
Review and act on revenue, gross profit, work in progress, accrued cost, pipeline, debtor and key performance reports.
Ensure strong debtor governance and decisive action on overdue or problem accounts.
Translate financial results into clear actions for department managers and senior leadership.

People Leadership

Lead, coach and empower direct reports while setting the standard for the entire branch.
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, high performance and respectful challenge.
Manage workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance, development, retention and succession with Human Resources support.
Address conduct, capability and morale issues early, fairly and consistently.

Compliance, Systems and Governance

Ensure full compliance with the DSV Operational Blueprint, standard operating procedures, policies and delegated authorities.
Maintain current knowledge of customs, freight forwarding, licensing, certification and other regulatory requirements.
Drive disciplined use and accurate data in CargoWise One, Dynamics and other company systems.
Ensure customer, operational and financial records are complete, current and audit-ready.
Act promptly on audit findings, control gaps and operational risks.

Key Criteria

Proven leadership experience in international freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain operations, with at least five years of relevant experience.
Strong Western Australian freight market knowledge and established customer and supplier networks.
Commercial capability across business development, customer management, budgets and profit delivery.
Demonstrated success leading people, improving performance and managing change.
Strong knowledge of international trade, customs, compliance and operational controls.
Confident use of logistics, customer and business systems; CargoWise One experience is highly regarded.
Clear communication, sound judgement, resilience and the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders.
