All Rack is an established business operating in the pallet racking and warehouse fit-out industry. We specialise in the installation, assembly, modification and maintenance of pallet racking, steel shelving and associated metal components for commercial and industrial warehouse environments.
Due to continued growth and an increase in projects, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Sheetmetal Worker to join our team on a full-time basis.
The position will primarily involve the preparation, fabrication, assembly, installation, modification and repair of metal components used in pallet racking and warehouse storage systems. The role will be based at [insert primary location], with travel to client and project sites as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
● Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and installation plans to determine job, material and equipment requirements.
● Selecting and checking metal stock and components to ensure dimensions, gauges and specifications are suitable for each project.
● Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines using templates, gauges and precision measuring instruments.
● Cutting metal stock and components using hand and power shears, drills, saws and other appropriate metalworking equipment.
● Shaping and forming metal components where required using folding and bending equipment, rollers, presses and hand tools.
● Fitting, assembling and joining metal components to produce and modify pallet racking, steel shelving and associated sheetmetal products.
● Drilling, fastening, bolting and securing metal components in accordance with drawings, manufacturer specifications and installation requirements.
● Undertaking on-site assembly and installation of pallet racking, steel shelving and associated metal products.
● Measuring, adjusting and modifying metal components on site to ensure correct alignment, fit and compliance with project specifications.
● Finishing fabricated and assembled components by filing, sanding, grinding, polishing and cleaning where required.
● Inspecting completed work to ensure installations meet required specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
● Repairing, modifying and maintaining damaged or existing sheetmetal products, pallet racking components and associated metal structures.
● Using hand tools, power tools and metalworking equipment safely and effectively.
● Liaising with supervisors, clients and other trades regarding installation requirements, site conditions and project scheduling.
● Coordinating installation activities and, where required, allocating tasks to other members of the installation crew.
● Ensuring plant, tools and equipment are maintained and used appropriately.
● Complying with company and client workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
● Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment.
● Performing other related sheetmetal fabrication, assembly and installation duties reasonably required to support project delivery.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for the position, applicants must have:
● A relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, Certificate III in Engineering – Sheetmetal Trade, Certificate IV in Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification; or substantial relevant experience as a Sheetmetal Worker.
● Demonstrated experience in sheetmetal fabrication, assembly, installation, modification and repair.
● Experience using metalworking hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.
● Experience interpreting drawings, specifications and measurements.
● Experience in pallet racking, steel shelving, warehouse fit-outs or similar metal installation work is highly regarded.
● A current Australian driver's licence.
● A current Construction White Card.
● The ability to work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
● A reliable and self-motivated approach to work.
● The physical capability to undertake installation and metal fabrication work on commercial and industrial sites.
Desirable Qualifications
The following are advantageous but not essential:
● Forklift licence.
● Elevated Work Platform or scissor lift licence.
● First Aid certification.
● Previous experience installing pallet racking and warehouse storage systems.
