About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Thornton workshop.
The role involves a combination of workshop based duties and site work across local and interstate projects. You will work on a variety of equipment, including light vehicles, excavation equipment, hydraulic systems and OEM machinery.
The successful applicant must be available to travel and work away from home on project-specific rosters.
Pay Rate:
The role will see you starting at $46.40/hr for a full time role or casual $54.29/hr plus allowances for site based work and the ability to earn more through a higher classification from our Enterprise Agreement.
About You:
- Relevant Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team on site
- General engineering workshop experience will be seen favourably
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Experience with light vehicles, excavation equipment, hydraulics, and OEM gear
- Experience with general industrial and mine site construction practices
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
- Must be locally based in the Newcastle/Hunter Region
- Must be able to travel to site for extended periods when needed including regional NSW, QLD, NT, SA and TAS.
