Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Perth, Western Australia.
About the Role
The Physiotherapist will provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and functional support to NDIS participants across a range of clinical and community settings.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support workers, support coordinators and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement appropriate treatment and rehabilitation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests to identify and assess physical problems and functional limitations.
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments within the practitioner's scope of practice.
- Design individualised treatment and rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and participant goals.
- Treat participants to reduce pain, improve circulation, strengthen muscles and improve physical function.
- Develop interventions to improve cardiothoracic, cardiovascular and respiratory function where clinically appropriate.
- Develop interventions to restore joint mobility, balance, coordination, strength and functional capacity.
- Use appropriate therapeutic exercise and other evidence-based treatment modalities within the practitioner's scope of practice.
- Review, continually monitor, assess and evaluate treatment programs and participant progress.
- Modify treatment programs as required based on clinical findings and participant outcomes.
- Consult with other health professionals regarding participant needs, progress and treatment requirements.
- Provide participants and their families or carers with appropriate education and instructions for exercises and procedures to be continued at home.
- Develop home-based exercise and rehabilitation programs where appropriate.
- Prepare professional reports, progress reports, assessments and NDIS documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments provided, participant responses and clinical progress.
- Develop and implement screening and preventative health promotion programs where appropriate.
- Collaborate with participants, families, carers, support coordinators, support workers, educators and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision and professional development activities.
- Ensure all clinical services and documentation comply with relevant legislation, professional standards, ethical requirements and organisational policies.
- Support participants to improve independence, physical function, community participation and achievement of their NDIS goals.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of physiotherapy practice within disability and/or community settings.
- Experience working with people with disability is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to person-centred and evidence-based practice.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence or ability to obtain one.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
- Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Ability and willingness to travel to participant locations as required.
